During her 14 years of experience as an award-winning entrepreneur, columnist and advisor of top performers, Kim Goad has learned that peak performance doesn't occur in a vacuum. Like a diamond, habits of consistent performance are formed under pressure. Her latest findings show how leaders can thrive when the heat is on.
A nationally known performance improvement expert, Kim has appeared on numerous radio and television programs across the country. She has also been featured in several magazines and newspapers, including First for Women, Fit and The New York Times.
As president of Ovations Inc., Kim draws from her successful background in corporate and non-profit environments to help individuals and corporations reach their highest level of performance--and maintain it through both prosperous and challenging times. A sought-after speaker, trainer and consultant, she shows busy professionals how to sharpen their focus, ask for and get what they want, take their business or career to the next level, use pressure-cooker environments to their best advantage--and do it all in less time with more energy. She offers frank observation, keen insight and practical ideas that get immediate results.
Since she started her business in 1993, Kim has received more than 90 percent of her clients by referral. Many organizations request that Kim come back year after year to speak to their groups. In her coaching practice, Kim's clients report that they achieve at least 75 percent of their goals within only three months--and are well on their way to achieving the others.
Kim has studied the principles of peak performance and has successfully applied them to her own life. Her book, Magic Moments: A Busy Woman's Guide to Forgotten Pleasures, has been published in three languages and reached the number-two slot on her distributor's national best-seller list. A recognized writer, she is a columnist for The Jeffersonian newspaper and Baltimore SmartWoman magazine. She also is a contributor for Real Woman Online and has written dozens of articles for a variety of other publications.
At The Johns Hopkins Hospital, she helped produce Hopkins Nurse, the celebrated institution's first-ever formal publication for nurses, which received an Award of Excellence from the American Association of Medical Colleges. For her contributions to the educational mission of Executive Women's Network, she won the organization's Mandy Goetze Award for outstanding member of the year. She also received awards two years in a row from the United Way of Central Maryland for successful promotion of its annual fundraising campaign. In addition, Kim's work has been honored by Towson University, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the Maryland Society for Healthcare Strategy & Marketing Development, as well as in the Healthcare Advertising Awards and National Health Information Awards.
Kim has done post-graduate work in applied behavioral science at The Johns Hopkins University. She rounds out her credentials as a personal fitness trainer certified by the American Council on Exercise and a group exercise instructor certified through Reebok Cycle and Powerhouse Pilates.
